Course Overview

Drawing from Life, this course that will take you through basic elements of drawing from the clothed figure and from life. Learners with little or no experience will benefit from this course, as it will allow individuals to explore various techniques as well as develop skills to share with like-minded people.

This course will be held at St John’s Centre, St John’s Rd, Old Trafford, Stretford, Manchester M16 7GX

Course Requirements

With no formal qualifications required – just an interest in drawingl!

What you will Learn

Working with practical elements such as composition, tone, form, mark-making and texture.
Some sessions will require students to model for the rest of the class in a seated position and will be done in rotation.

We’ll be using a variety of materials to work with, so you can start to build your art portfolio as we tackle subjects like.
– The Basic Shapes used in all art
– Still Life
– Flowers and Plants
– Drawing from real life
– Figures, Portraits

Homework will be set between each session,
Resources students should bring include a sketchbook and drawing materials including range of soft pencils, chalk pastels, charcoal, eraser, and a range of different types of drawing papers

Career Options

A Drawing from Life course is an excellent foundation for fine art careers and creative industries.
